A major focus of the project is related to the idea of family space. The Joreick family is a large family that enjoys to gather together and share tea, food, and stories. To help facilitate this a large outdoor screened porch was designed.
In contrast to the large outdoor screened area is an equal area that is completely open. An area that except for a roof cover is open and usable for a great many activities. Animals can be kept here, storage could be built here, or the family could gather around a large table and share a meal.
